Photo dump of concept drawings for a short story project. This would be a dark fantasy Sword and Sorcery collection with a tragic bent in a twilight decaying world.
An original sketch run through two photo editors. Is the original art improved? Maybe. The AI's ability to analyze the image is spot on. The colors are correct. The lighting looks plausible. There is in the original, a disjoint between the style of the two references I used. Astute comics fans may notice that the background is cribbed from Mignola's Fafhrd and Grey Mouser. The story behind the original is an elven noblewoman in her father's magical library. She is on the point of stealing his necromantic tome and running away from an arranged marriage. It is the beginning of her erstwhile descent into darkness. A good picture needs a story. Does the story come through in any of the versions without a text explanation?
Still working on ideas for a Sword and Sorceress style short story cycle. The images are there, the voice and tone are there, the characters are there, but no stories. I'm working on shading and blocking with my pens. Black and white or bicolor are my new thing. We're still reading Sherlock Holmes, but the stories aren't as artistically inspiring as The Hound of the Baskervilles.
